Stuart is a highly skilled speaker and presenter with a diverse background spanning education, business management and marketing. He holds qualifications in Celebrancy, funeral directing and management training, alongside extensive experience across the funeral and wedding sectors. His career has seen him work with small family-owned funeral firms, large corporate organisations, and ultimately establish and run his own business.
Stuart’s greatest strength is his warm, personable nature and his natural ability to connect with people. He has a genuine gift for making others feel comfortable and at ease, creating an environment where people feel heard, valued and supported. His experience, empathy and attention to detail enable him to write meaningful and accurate life stories that capture the memories, personalities and moments that matter most to families and couples.
Stuart recognised early in his career that much of the celebrant training courses available were centred around specific ceremonies, particularly weddings and funerals. He identified a significant gap in the education and preparation available to celebrants who wanted to support people across the full spectrum of life’s milestones, transitions and rites of passage.
Driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, Stuart saw an opportunity to create something different: a training organisation with a genuinely diverse curriculum that would equip celebrants with the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to honour and celebrate the many significant moments in people’s lives. This vision led to the creation of the Academy of Professional Celebrants.
As an experienced facilitator and presenter, Stuart understands what makes a ceremony truly meaningful. He recognises the importance of bringing together words, poetry, music, symbolism and ritual to create ceremonies that reflect the people at their heart. With a caring and passionate approach, he helps couples and families navigate their thoughts and emotions, creating ceremonies that can inspire hope, express love and provide a sense of connection and mutual support.

With an impressive 36 years of experience at Wychavon District Council, Sam brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise and people-focused leadership to the Academy of Professional Celebrants.
During her time at the council, Sam worked as Head of Payroll, leading a team and developing a wealth of experience in leadership, organisation, finance and, most importantly, supporting people.
Now, Sam is delighted to be part of the Academy of Professional Celebrants as our Accounts & Finance Manager. With a passion for organisation and a strong eye for detail, Sam is excited to put her skills and experience to work behind the scenes, helping APC thrive.

Prior to joining the Academy, he served as Head of Network Rail Standards and Quality Control, a senior role responsible for overseeing rigorous standards and quality processes within one of the UK's most critical national infrastructure organisations.
His experience at Network Rail provided Paul with an exceptional understanding of how robust standards, effective quality control, accountability, and professional development can work together to deliver consistently high standards.
